I used to play the game with my family while I was overseas, it was nice to be able to play a game together even while so far away. It left some of the great features of Spore and combined it with an online game with a great plot. If they were to restructure the game to allow native offline play, it's more difficult. I loved playing Darkspore, it took Spore to a new level. If it was a dirty patch, similar to what fans made for Hellgate London, it's easy. I'd pay a few bucks for an offline patch for almost every game that's "died' because a company forced it to be all online, then killed it off. Using the Register button in the Darkspore login screen, create a user account (it will only exist in your computer, and you won't need internet to do that). Press Play in the Darkspore launcher and wait for the login screen. It's some work, and most of the netcode is obviously already there. While it is running, launch Darkspore with the exe copy, and keep ReCap running while using it. The only insentive to patch it would be if EA wanted to make fans happy. Honestly though, they already got paid for the game. There could be some other improvements to the game, but I propose that we get an offline mode for Darkspore so we can at least play the game.
